IZZ & ANDREW

Izz contacted KSJ to create a pair of wedding rings for her woodland handfasting. Neither of them wanted a traditional white wedding, and the handfasting ritual is one of the most ancient ceremonies, with the couple bound together with ribbons to symbolise them being joined by their promises. Izz wanted to ensure that the wedding was grounded in nature, with the trees and sky as their witnesses, as well as friends and family. The wedding rings needed to reflect the deeply spiritual nature of their ceremony and promises to one another. While her engagement ring was a traditional diamond band that had been passed down through Andrew’s family, Izz and Andrew wanted to offset it with a more alternative and personal wedding band that would reflect who they are as both individuals and as a couple. The couple collaborated closely with KSJ, having several face to face meetings and fittings before the design was finalised. 

Izz’s band is a slim 3mm silver band, with twin black diamonds unconventionally set on the front side of the band. The top and bottom of the ring are engraved with the triple goddess and the alchemical symbols for fire and earth. Andrew chose a much thicker band with a matte finish and the same alchemical engravings. Both bands were engraved on the inside with the date of their handfasting and their own phrase ‘till the fires burn’.
